These terms apply to one-to-one and group tutoring booked through DTBase. They sit alongside the sections above.
Sending an enquiry does not book a session and no payment is taken at that point. A session is only confirmed once we have agreed a time with you by email, and payment details are arranged then. Rates are shown on the tutoring page and are per hour, per person for group sessions.
You can move or cancel a session free of charge by giving at least 24 hours' notice. Just reply to your booking email or contact us. There is no limit on how many times you may reschedule with proper notice.
Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed without notice, are charged at 50% of the session rate. This is because your tutor's time is reserved for you and cannot usually be filled at short notice. If something genuinely unavoidable comes up, such as illness or a family emergency, please tell us and we will apply common sense rather than the letter of this clause.
Bundles of five pre-paid sessions are discounted by 10%. Bundle sessions do not expire, so you can spread them across a whole course at your own pace.
If you decide to stop partway through a bundle, we will refund the balance of any sessions you have not used. Sessions already taken are charged at the standard rate rather than the discounted rate, because the 10% discount applies to a completed block of five.
Because sessions are booked at a distance, you have the right to cancel a tutoring booking within 14 days of it being confirmed, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
If you asked us to begin sessions inside that 14-day window, you will be charged for any sessions already delivered, at the standard rate. Once every session in a booking has been delivered at your request, the 14-day right no longer applies to that booking. This right is in addition to, and does not replace, the bundle refund terms above.
If your tutor has to cancel or move a session, we will offer you an alternative time or a full refund for that session, whichever you prefer. You will never be charged for a session we cancel.
Where the student is under 18, we ask that enquiries come from a parent or guardian and we will correspond with them throughout. Any refund is returned to whoever paid.
