Conductive Fabrics:

Fire Resistant Fabrics:

  • Self-extinguishing properties
  • High heat resistance
  • Protective barrier against flames
  • Often heavier than regular fabrics
  • Can be less breathable
  • Higher production costs

Uses: Firefighter gear, industrial workwear, military uniforms, theater curtains


Kevlar:

Advantages Disadvantages
  • Impact resistant
  • Heat resistant
  • Poor UV resistance and degrades with sunlight
  • Prone to moisture degradations
  • Poor in compression unless reinforced

Uses: Body armour, cut-proof gloves, surfboard components


Microfibers with Microencapsulation:

Advantages Disadvantages
  • Controlled release of active ingredients (fragrances, medications)
  • Enhanced functionality without changing fabric feel
  • Long-lasting effects through gradual release
  • Can incorporate multiple beneficial compounds
  • Higher production costs than standard microfibers
  • Limited lifespan of encapsulated compounds
  • Potential skin irritation with some active ingredients
  • Special care requirements for washing/maintenance

Uses: Medical textiles, antimicrobial clothing, cosmetotextiles, temperature-regulating fabrics, scented home textiles
